On January 12th, the "Head Geese" project for cultivating rural industry revitalization leaders in Jiangsu Province, undertaken by Nanjing Agricultural University, was officially launched. Liu Ruiming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Shen Qirong, academician of the CAE Member and director of the "Touyan" project expert steering committee, Jiang Xuezhong, director of the Science and Technology and Education Department of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, addressed the meeting. At the launch ceremony, Liu Weimin stated that in the upcoming training process, Jiangsu Three&Three will focus on the application training of technical skills in smart agriculture, digital agriculture development, unmanned farms, and digital rural construction in the context of highly integrated new generation information technology. They will teach 581 "head geese" students practical agricultural digital transformation solutions and agricultural robots that can be applied in fields such as field planting, aquaculture, livestock and poultry production, and facility horticulture, providing strong professional and technical personnel support for agricultural digital transformation.

In April 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the Implementation Plan for the "Head Geese" Project for Cultivating Leading Figures in Rural Industrial Revitalization, "proposing to cultivate a team of" Head Geese "leading figures in rural industrial revitalization within five years, drive the formation of a" goose formation "of new agricultural management entities nationwide, and consolidate the talent foundation for rural industrial revitalization. Jiangsu Province has formulated the "Implementation Plan for Cultivating Leading Figures in Rural Industry Revitalization in Jiangsu Province", highlighting the four leading industries in the entire agricultural industry chain that the province focuses on building, namely high-quality grain and oil, green fruits and vegetables, large-scale livestock and poultry, and characteristic aquatic products. Within five years, a team of 3000 leading figures in rural industry revitalization will be cultivated, providing strong talent support and intellectual guarantee for comprehensively promoting rural revitalization and accelerating agricultural and rural modernization.

This cultivation project will enrich and improve the practical curriculum system. According to the "Four Ones" model of one month of centralized teaching, one semester of online learning, a series of visits and visits, and the assistance and guidance of a mentor, we will carry out customized, experiential, and incubation cultivation for students, guide them to grow and strengthen their industries, and lead and drive local industries to improve quality and efficiency, and farmers to increase income and become rich.
